The Supervisor, Production is responsible for supervising manufacturing team members in an assembly environment.
Production Supervisors are primarily responsible for ensuring continual improvement in their assigned areas related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost of refrigeration products.
This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division , located in Fort Smith, AR.
This position supports our first shift, with standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, with overtime or weekend work as needed.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm (8 hour day), or 4:30am-3:00pm (10 hour day).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Study production schedules and estimate manpower requirements to meet schedules.
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff members regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing processes.
Train and mentor team leaders on various job aspects including safety, quality, and operational duties.
Drive cost reduction and high performance using lean methodologies.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities including orientations, training, discipline, directing work, assessing work performance, coaching, developing, and motivating team members.
Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.
Manages a small to mid-size team of professionals.
Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team, with direct impact on immediate or short-term operational results for assigned department.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in related field; High School Diploma or equivalent with additional supplementary experience accepted.
5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in related field; MBA.
Experience with Toyota Production System.
Experience with Oracle ERP.
