Job Description:
Principal Accountabilities
1.
To maintain safety standards by using LOTO and confined space entry procedures when working in the production area.
2.
To note process irregularities and communicate with the shift and system mechanics to help correct the problems.
3.
Coordinate break relief for production associates on a daily basis and provide break relief when needed.
4.
Assist Shift Manager to complete assignments and fill in for Shift Manager as needed.
5.
Participate in special projects such as HACCP, CI, FMOS, and 5s.
6.
Contribute necessary information during shift change meeting and fill in for Shift Manager when needed.
7.
Participate in daily reliability meetings.
8.
Conduct safety audits as assigned and insure that they are completed on time.
9.
Become a member of the PEO team (optional).
10.
Take an active role in the monitoring associate’s progress as well as mentoring and coaching to further associate’s growth.
11.
Compose daily shift notes in the absence of the Shift Manager.
12.
Be a leader in scrap management and look for ways to reduce scrap on a daily basis.
13.
To perform preventative maintenance and inspections on production equipment.
14.
To isolate holds and tests through effective cross communication with all lines and the Quality Technician in order to minimize the amount of product placed on hold.
15.
Coordinate process flow and scheduling for the entire processing area.
16.
Identify quality issues in raw or cooked product and decide whether to run, hold or scrap the evaluated product.
17.
Advise the Shift Manager on potential production stopping issues.
18.
Recommend action/tradeoffs to ensure optimal plant outputs are achieved.
19.
This position and all site associates are responsible for quality and food safety.
20.
This position monitors quality and food safety control points and makes corrective actions to the process if needed.
21.
Know and understand the site’s CCP’s and report any findings of deficiencies to site’s quality manager or designee.

2.
Excellent interpersonal skills (writing, talking, listening, dealing appropriately in pressure situations) with the ability to communicate with the Shift Manager, Operations Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and all production associates on all of the product lines in the factory.
3.
Have the ability to troubleshoot the equipment (mechanically and computer controls) and write work orders on the proper piece of equipment in a timely manner.
4.
Able to effectively and efficiently operate within a self-directed team with very little supervision.
5.
The ability to effectively manage and prioritize a multitude of tasks occurring simultaneously.
6.
To have the ability to make a timely, critical and far reaching decision during a shift.
7.
Have a thorough understanding of the process flow for the entire factory.
8.
Scheduling coordination.
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge • Must be able to plan ahead based on raw ingredients supplies, factory flow and equipment breakdown • Must be fluent as a user of all computer programs used when operating the equipment in the production areas • Must be able to use the inventory management system (PRMS) to keep track of the quantity and location of all of the frozen meat and dry ingredients on site.
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask by running different products at one time while keeping track of multiple changeovers.
• Must be able to access product quality and troubleshoot any issues associated with product quality.
• Troubleshoot production system operations • Organizational and planning skills • Must have the knowledge and ability to operate a forklift+ • Food Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices Preferred Skills • Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Batching, Mixing, Filler, Retort, and Schubert Experience • Statistical Process Control • Forklift certified.
