Meter Reader

com* *GENERAL DESCRIPTION* The essential function of the position within the organization is to read meters so that the utility office may bill customer for water usage.
*PRIMARY DUTIES:* This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position.
Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.
- Read water meters and enter readings into handheld device.
- Upload and download information from handheld device to utility office software so that utility bills can be processed.
- Re-read water meters for suspicious usage.
- Turn water meters off for non-payments.
- Install new water meters for new accounts.
- Pull water meters for miscellaneous reasons.
- Completes work order forms for meter repairs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * Requires High School diploma, or GED.
*LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:* Requires a valid driver's license.
*EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* Requires one year of related experience.
