English Language Teacher

Poteau Upper Elementary English Language Teacher EL Teacher Qualifications: Must hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Must hold a current Oklahoma teaching certification.
Knowledge of the WIDA standards and testing program (coordinating and administering) is preferred.
Must be willing to translate when needed.
Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and delivers lessons in English language development.
Screen all incoming EL students.
Collaborates with classroom teachers and to ensure achievement of ELs across content areas.
Work with classroom teachers to complete ELAP's using the Eduskills program.
Provide instruction based on WIDA standards in the four areas of development: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
Acquire yearly certification for administering the WIDA ACCESS Test.
Administer the WIDA ACCESS Test yearly.
Become knowledgeable of the Eduskills EL program.
Translate for non-English speaking families when needed.
Provide EL professional development for teachers.
Complete yearly required professional development.
Other duties as assigned.
