The Accountant prepares financial statements and general ledgers required for management to determine the financial viability of the business.
The Accountant is responsible for examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, audit, and evaluate statements prepared by others.
Installs or advises on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data.
This position is required to:
• Prepare detailed reports on internal audit findings.
• Report to management about asset utilization and audit results and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
• Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and prepare end-of-month reporting.
Preferred Experience and Abilities
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a combination of vocational education with on-the-job training, and experience.
• One to two years’ work experience is preferred.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check including a drug screening.
• Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain growth and innovation objectives.
• Able to concentrate, be alert, and focus on alpha numeric data for long periods of time.
• Knowledge and understanding of QuickBooks.
• Knowledge and understanding of AppFolio is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel.
• Able to express business ideas and information in all forms of communication, respond to inquiries, emails, and messages timely.
• Able to document and record large amounts of financial information accurately and timely.
• Able to meet deadlines as required on a regular basis.
